YO! Oh mah mah, updates. Montreal was a bucket of fun. Ima have to point-form it, or I'll get too long-winded.
-Delicious pomegranate martinis at Sarah's with Josh and Rachy when I got there - it was so good to see everyone!!! :D Lovely pretty shirt present from Sarah, and two bundles of kitty-love to play with. Sarah has a new kitten named Fidel that just so happens to be the the most lovable creature on the planet.
-Drunken drag show in the village, which made me die of joy. Costumes and choreography, oh my!! It was too good.
-Messed up, drunken pizza at seediest place ever
-Rachel saying "Tabernac" in the cab so many times, followed by "Do you think the cabbie can hear me?? I'm whispering!!" (She wasn't whispering)
-Extreme hangover followed by Sarah's Russian Film class the next day - it was pretty interesting. I got to sneak in and watch some movies.
-Lolloping around the city with Rachy n' Jorsh. Rachel bought a "Tabernac" t-shirt, lol
-St.Hubert!
-Shrooms. Oh god. The Shrooms. Five hours of hilarity and wonder. You know how you're not supposed to look at your reflection in a mirror when you're shroomed out? I was like "what the hell" and did it anyway, but it was actually really cool. It wasn't freaky or anything. Sarah's yellow kitchen was the sparkliest, prettiest thing I've ever seen. Rachel's blond hair was so luminous I couldn't stop looking at it. Oh, and my hands left rainbow trails every time I moved them. We watched some ridiculous video on youtube with some guy apparently dancing with a Dora the Explorer mask on his head and I came within a fraction of peeing my pants I was laughing so hard. I had a mini shroom-induced emotional crisis where I started getting sobby about Shane and the whole mess, but I felt better soon with much comforting from everyone. I think I just had a lot on my mind but hadn't thought about it much, what with all the fun going on in Montreal. Still... shrooms = fantastic.
Now I'm back in the O-town! Ah, good times. I would've liked to stay longer, but that was all the Jennie could afford with her birfdey monies. Oh, Jess to answer your question from my last postie, what happened with Shane is that I'd been thinking that it was about time for him to get out on his own (After over a year and a half) soon, and that starting to date Shawn was a little extra motivation to ask him to get himself together in the near future. I mean, he'd been living out of a backpack in my room for all that time. By "I did what I had to do", I meant mustering up the courage to get Shane to get himself in gear. Not really easy, considering that I was accustomed to seeing him every morning and ever night since two summers ago, and I know he was comfortable and used to being here too. He was pretty sad for a while, and it was hard on me to be around him like that, but he got his stuff together while I was in Montreal and now he's at his parent's place in Pembroke trying to get a job with his uncle's company. He left me a fairly friendly note saying that he still wanted to stay friends and everything, and that he might end up back in Ottawa at some point in the future, which isn't too shabby considering how pissed off he was at me. I still really care about him, and hope that everything works out okay... but all the same, it feels really right and relieving to have my own space back. I can come and go and have people in, and it feels great.
In other news, my mom n' Jim are coming to town tonight, and Leigh and I are taking them to the Tragically Hip show for Momma's B-day!!! :D HOORAH! It's gonna be so fun! My mom's so sweet, she deserves a wacky night in Ottawa. Then on Saturday, it's Jen's benefit party for her kitty! I'm going to make kitty-shaped cookies today for it :D Pure joy.
Time to go get a bunch of crap done! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
